Voltage Energy Launches Voltage^®CAPPER Series to Enhance PV Connector Protection and Field Safety

Voltage Energy Group (“Voltage Energy”), a leading solar and clean energy solutions provider founded in North Carolina, announced the launch of its Voltage^® CAPPER Series, a new solution designed to enhance PV connector protection, field safety, and maintenance control throughout the solar project lifecycle.

According to HelioVolta’s PV Connectors: The State of the Field report, field inspections across solar projects have identified connector-related issues as a recurring reliability concern. HelioVolta’s field data shows that 83% of inspected projects had at least one connector-related issue, and 45% of sites had major connector issues requiring urgent maintenance. These findings highlight the need to improve connector protection, identification, and maintenance practices to support safer, more consistent PV system operations.

Voltage Energy developed the Voltage^® CAPPER Series to help solar teams address these challenges by providing a more structured approach to connector protection and field management. The solution improves connector visibility, supports maintenance procedures, and helps teams manage critical connection points from project commissioning through ongoing operations.

Full lifecycle SKU coverage

Five SKUs cover the complete connector lifecycle, with blue caps for transport and storage and red caps for lockout/tagout during maintenance.

Dedicated sealing architecture

A silicone O-ring at the sealing face delivers IP68 protection at 1 m depth for 24 hours, beyond the IP67 level commonly specified for connector caps. The PPE body provides low water absorption and dimensional stability under humidity, reducing dust, moisture, and accidental contact risk in field conditions.

Validated multi-brand compatibility

Compatibility has been validated across 16 connector brands and 23 connector types, including Stäubli, Amphenol, and TE Connectivity, allowing a single cap program to serve sites with mixed connector populations.
